Posted by DRAY WALK

Here we go, the latest of our Just Popped in to say hello feature. This time we have grilled our longest standing member Joe.  After two years at Number Six doing nearly every role it's safe to say he knows the place like the back of his hand. As Buyer Joe is responsible for providing all the delights we have to offer in store and online. Never to be seen without a hat, according to him due to his hairline, we wanted to get behind his trademark and find out a bit more about his wardrobe. We asked him our...

This season we are proud to introduce a few newcomers to our brand list. One of these newcomers is Winter Session. These guys come from Denver and make some of the best quality bags and leather goods we've seen. The motto of the brand is that they "make things for people who care about how things are made" a pretty good motto as far as we are concerned. Attention to detail: Each product is handmade in their storefront workshop in Denver. If ever you wanted proof in the pudding it's letting people watch you make your bags and wallets as...

Oliver Spencer AW16 - Music To Our Ears

Posted by 2

The Inspiration: Inspiration can be found in the most unlikely places. The Oliver Spencer AW16 collection found it in the form of Ginger Baker. Ginger Baker was the drummer and one of  the founding members the band Cream. Having been known primarily for his role in music, Ginger Baker was a man of great sartorial pedigree. Baker often led the way for British counter-culture fashion. While America had Easy Rider & Woodstock we had the likes of Baker. The Oliver Spencer AW16 collection is inspired in particular by Baker's trip to Africa. Ginger Baker's trip led him to work with the...

SEVERAL; SS17 at London Collections

Posted by 2

The Several SS17 show at London Collection Mens was another nod to times gone by. Set in a yellow and white cafe, the show offered a retro palette even Wes Anderson would envy. The brands attention to detail did not fall short at the clothing. Vintage magazines and papers alongside toast on the table all served as parts of the Several time machine. Furthermore the clothing featured was just as much a tip of the hat to Britain of post war times. Utilitarian work wear teamed with the aspirational trench coat & sunglasses blended industrial styles of the early 20th...

Attention To Detail: The Work Jacket

Posted by 2

For any of you with a keen eye you might have noticed we are partial to a work Jacket at Number Six. Now I can think of many things to thank the French for like French bread, the 1998 world cup winning squad and mime artists, however Work Jackets have to top that list. The History: Originating in France, the work jacket was a staple of the French countryside. The most well known form of the work jacket is the "Bleu de Travail" jacket, this is the iconic jacket with heavy indigo dye. This jacket became prominent in France and throughout...

Museum Arrives In Store!

All the staff here at Number Six are big fans of Museum, so when the coats arrived in store we lost it. It seems each jacket has something about it that is beautiful in its simplicity, construction and specifications. It seems the folks at Museum have found a way to create coats that do exactly what you need, to be kept warm and dry no matter what. As a bonus theirs minimal branding, no unnecessary pockets and no useless frilly bits. We currently have two Museum coats, the 'Surplus Parka' what is museums 'Intermediate Zone' coat ideal for urban environments. Second is the 'New Seattle' coat what...
