LAW Magazine | Issue 9

Posted by 2 on

With a reputable focus on ‘documenting the beautiful undercurrent of Britain’, Lives And Works aka LAW Magazine is one of the best magazines we’ve seen in a while. It gets a realistic handle on the Britain so many of us can relate to, but don’t often see printed.

LAW Magazine, what's it all about?

We’re currently stocking limited copies of Issue no. 9. With authority in society at the heart of this issue, it's a testament to the tasteful way LAW approaches issues. Containing intriguing viewpoints - from those of six of London’s female police officers, to the brightest new talent in self-published poetry. (You’ve GOT to check out Abondance Matanda).   Law Magazine One thing that strikes us the most is the blatant contrast which also somehow marries a lot of society together. There’s a stark difference from one page to the next. You've got CCTV or dashcam images, versus an ongoing series by Adama Jalloh entitled ‘You Fit The Description’. A series focusing on young black and Asian men, whom Home Office statistics recently revealed are over 6x more likely to be stopped and searched by police. But having said this, what LAW Magazine does so flawlessly is through each story on each page, join everything together to somehow give a really clear interpretation of the environment we live in today. With all its brilliant hopefulness and hopelessness encompassed. Law Magazine Issue 9 There’s no shortage of fascinating photography, social commentary, and think-pieces. But at the heart of it all is representation and humour. Two key ingredients for undoubted success in recognising the times we are living in and helping to push us forward. Law Magazine Issue 9

What about menswear?

Let’s not forget the fashion that comes along with this too, though. With menswear as our primary love here at Number Six, LAW Magazine plays right into our field of interest with street styles and brand campaigns. Including Carhartt WIP which you can buy with us both in-store and online. Including the 428 page Work In Progress Archives book, you won’t regret it. Honestly, the worst part is trying to find enough words to do this issue of LAW Magazine justice. So come and grab yourself a copy while stocks last!
