Just checking in. Sorry for the not being in touch for a while but have been busy scouring the globe to find the best of what is going to be on your most wanted list for next Autumn Winter. As always we have had to search high and low whilst also going to great lengths to ensure that we kept out of the way of prying eyes trying to clock our every move. We have to keep one step ahead of the pack you see as we don't want to end up bunched in with the masses and all that. All the effort is well worth it in the end though as what we came across, is a sight to behold and with many an exclusive to
Number Six agreed you can rest assured, come next Autumn Winter you are in safe hands.
We have a new brand to
Number Six....coming straight outta Stockholm from Swedish designers Cristopher Nying and Jockum Hallin is
Our Legacy, a brand that redefines “the classic men's wardrobe in a light and comfortable manner, a well dressed contemporary look made to appear thrown together in a perfectly natural and confident way. The use of Italian, British and Portuguese fabrics adds a heritage feeling, like a classic garment from your grandfathers wardrobe, slightly remodelled to fit our life and our time.....that is unless your grandfather happened to be a cross dresser and had a few floral dresses and blouses knocking about next to his other bits and pieces. Anyway, we are digressing, this is yet another brand to add to the long list of Skandinavian designers that has been steadily pouring out of that breeding ground of talent and creativity.
Our Legacy, Christopher and Jockum will be leaving theirs for sure.
Whilst we are on the subject of talented Skandinavians, one of our firm favourites
Suit, have just dropped in the first taster of what is to come from them for Spring. To say that we wait with baited breath for this gear to turn up is something of an understatement as we literally have customers standing over us as we unpack the boxes ready to get involved the minute the gear is out of it's packaging. Pretty much everything that
Suit do is bang on the money for us and the quality and detail is as sharp as ever in what we have just received. Their new
Samson jacket is an improvement (and we thought there wasn't any room for any) on previous seasons Felix and Vital jacket and in three very fetching colours. Like we said, just a taste of things to come from
Suit for Spring but we promise to be in touch the minute their next delivery arrives.
Right over to the US of A now and the
Polo gear is coming in thick and fast. A little too early for
Ralph Lauren swim shorts some might say???........but far flung holidays during the months of January, February and March are what these multi coloured beauties were made for. On top of that a selection of polo shirts in more colours then what you might find in the Dulux factory, has us sitting here in the Number Six HQ, gazing out of the window dreaming of warmer climates.
Oxford shirts a plenty in various colours all of which are yet to be seen in this absolute all time classic wardrobe staple. Finally, the icing on the cake from our favourite silver haired outfitter to the preppy lifestyler is a
madras patchwork short and a hawaiian print
classic polo. Yep, got to be seen to be believed and only available here at your old faithful,
Number Six.
Last but not least.......after sending out the initial flurry of
Barbour Tokihito jackets that were pre-ordered we now have the balance of what is left available to buy in the store or at
www.numbersixlondon.com . You don't need us to tell you just exactly how truly special these items of outerwear, a collaboration of exemplary talent from both parties is, because if you know of anyone who owns or has even simply clapped eyes on one of these master pieces then word will have got back to you anyway. We have all
Spring Barbour Tokihito styles available in most sizes and as there is a little whisper going about that AW2011 may be the last ever collect
Yoshida Tokihito produces for
Barbour then we reckon the value of these jackets will one day soar. Whether it is an investment, or you just want to wear one of these garments and appreciate the effort and consideration that has gone into it, you will never regret parting with your your hard earned to buy one. We tip our hats to you
Mr Yoshida Tokihito.
That is all from us here at Number Six for now. We wish you a very nice weekend and next week we will be in touch with a lovely double whammy from Universal Works and our old china, Mr Oliver Spencer.
Until then,
Au Revoir
