Despite this up and down loosely termed season called Summer we are experiencing being a little on the wet side, we are not getting allowing ourselves to get too down in the dumps about it. Reason being???........all of the stupendous Autumn Winter gear that we went out, sourced and ordered 6 months ago is arriving in a steady stream through the doors and onto the hallowed turf of Number Six. One imminent arrival that is getting us particularly excited is the ever impressive Barbour Tokihito range designed by the near mythical Mr Yoshida Tokihito. We were graced by his presence in Number Six recently and the good fellow didn't let us down in the style stakes as he was turned out impecably sporting a mix of fine outerwear from his own collection, tailored trousers, handmade shoes, shirt and cravat. We were suitably impressed. Anyway, we feel we are digressing, the reason for todays mailer is to let you know that as of 12.01am on the first of July 2011 you will be able to pre order the latest seasons Barbour Tokihito jackets and be amongst the first across the globe to have one secured and set aside, ready to arrive with you in August 2011. Amongst the styles that we have lined up for your enjoyment are the Spey Fishing Jacket made from 6oz wax a brand new style for AW11. Inspired from the Barbour archives it includes authentic fishing details, an integral rollaway hood and reinforced heavy weight wax shoulder and pocket overlays. Multi-pocketed, the jacket comes with two large chest pockets, one with a fishing net bag, two Napoleon pockets and two upper pockets with side entry zips for small items such as mp3 players and mobiles. The jacket offers functional detailing including a removable sheepskin patch and detachable quilted liner. Further in addition for AW2011 is the wax and ventile Shoreman Jackets inspired by the original long Shoreman, traditionally used for duck or wildfowl shooting, the jacket features a draw cord waist, an integral detachable hood and quilted body warmer with Shetland wool lining. It has 2 upper fleeced hand warmer pockets, lower poacher pockets, a leather top collar with double zip and throat fastening. Also new to the collection is the beautifully constructed Sports Jacket in both olive syloil wax and a 100% Shetlan wool tweed with laminated waterproof backing. The collar has an integral stow-away hood and throat flap closure. Ergonomically shaped for comfort the jacket underpins the origins of the style with the cleverly laminated fabric offering waterproof and windproof qualities. The latest, updated version of the very popular Motor Bike Shirt come in Barbour 6oz sylkoil wax with the classic, instantly recognisable Cardinl tartan lining. Inspired by Barbour’s motorbike heritage, the Motor Bike Shirt has sophisticated details such as an integral zip in hood in the collar and a lower back rucksack drawstring pocket. The jacket features two upper Napoleon pockets, an upper angled map pocket, two side seam hip and venting pockets and lower front flap welt pockets. A future classic in anyones book. Lastly, and for the very first time during this hugely successful colaboration, the ever so talented Mr Tokihito has included some of the finest quality, considered and well executed pieces of knitwear we have seen for some time from any brand. We have the Paxman, a rich 3 gauge wool mix knit with leather football buttons which features a fully fashioned strapped collar; a side seam fashion pocket and extended cuffs taking inspiration from fishing sweaters and the Midden, a classic Tokihito style 7 gauge wool mix knit with leather football buttons. Features include fully fashioned tabs on the hook and eye collar and waist area.............all very good work indeed. Now, as we said, these beauties are available to pre-order for delivery in August 2011 just after midnight tonight so don't be caught dilly dallying around and guarantee yourself, what we consider to be some of the jackets of the season so far........and it is only just July. Just before we sign off, there has been further reductions in the great Number Six sale so if you are after bagging yourself a bargain then the opportunity is still very much there. Enjoy the weekend, from all of us here at Number Six
