The World Renowned Champion Reverse Weave
Welcoming back the Champion reverse weave to the ever-expanding Number Six family. Founded back in 1919, yes that's right, 1919! The Champion we all know and love is steeped in heritage. Started by the Feinbloom brothers, Champion started with university business selling athleisure to campuses around the US, growing with the best marketing tool, word of mouth, to becoming a global household name for amazing quality athleisure wear.
1952 was the pivotal year for Champion when they brought us the pivotal Reverse Weave method for the first time ever. The Reverse Weave process works to prevent shrinkage when washing and keeps the sweatshirt in shape for much longer. With the idea stemming from American coaches in the 40’s, needing to wash bulk team sweats, the fibre fleece is turned upright at the time of creation, hence, the ‘reverse’ weave. To top it off, all Champion sweatshirts have the same inserts, to avoid any dispersion of heat, keeping the sweatshirt comfy and to shape.
This is why Champion and their signature ‘C’ are a Number Six in-house staple. Whether it's for comfort or style, they do both and they do it well. This season, the brand has presented us with some pastel colourways as well as some more vibrant staples that we just couldn't resist.
